Liability notes on the 7 BOE terrain files for the Win 3.1/95 version of Blades of Exile created by Spiderweb Software:

Limitation of Liability. Under no circumstances shall Spiderweb Software or I be liable for any incidental, special or consequential damages that result from the use or inability to use these 7 terrain bitmaps (Ter1.bmp to Ter6.bmp and Teranim.bmp). You expressly acknowledge and agree that use of these files is at your sole risk, so backup the original files first.

(edited from paragraphs 7 and 6 of the BOE License Agreement)

With that in mind, this add on is for Win 3.1/95 users of Spiderweb Software's Blades of Exile.

Instructions for using these 7 Terrain bitmap files:
In your blscened directory, move the 7 Terx.bmp files (Ter1.bmp to Ter6.bmp and Teranim.bmp) to a safe place (ie make a backup copy).

Unzip Terrains.zip. Most decompression programs will make a subdirectory of the zipped files. Move the 7 Terx.bmp files (Ter1.bmp to Ter6.bmp and Teranim.bmp) to the blscened directory.

You should now be able to view the cave terrain floor and walls (outdoors and town/dungeons) in the classic Exile light turquoise shade.

If you don't like these Terrain files, just delete them and restore the original files.

The idea for replacing the BOE default terrain graphics with a custom set was in User's Questions Answered (#8, Questions from 1/21/98-2/2/98) for the Macintosh side. On the PC side, Andy Sack <asack@gvi.net> proposed how to do it via the BOE list server on 6/9/98. Using the classic Exile cave terrain (light turquoise) vice the white cave terrain was suggested by Brian "Stareye" Kiedrowski.
